House of Praise

No Comments

Today I read a story that made me to remember my son.

Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon

Al-Tirmidhi (942) narrated that Abu Sinaan (RA) said :

I buried my son Sinaan and Abu Talhah al-Khoolaani was sitting at the graveside. When I wanted to go out he took my hand and said, “Shall I not give you some glad tidings, O Abu Sinaan ?

I said, “Yes.”

He said, “Al-Dahhaak ibn ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ‘Arzab narrated to me from Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari that the Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said :

“When a person’s child dies, Allaah says to His angels, ‘You have taken the child of My slave.’

They say, ‘Yes.’

He says, ‘You have taken the apple of his eye.’

They say, ‘Yes.’

He says, ‘What did My slave say ?’

They say, ‘He praised you and said “Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’oon (Verily to Allaah we belong and unto Him is our return).’

Allaah says, ‘Build for My slave a house in Paradise and call it the house of praise.’

6 Blessings of A Shuhada

Narrated by al-Miqdaam ibnu Ma’di Yakrib (RA) :

Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said,

The martyr has six blessings with Allaah (SWT) :

  • he will be forgiven from the first drop of blood shed;
  • he will be shown his place in Paradise;
  • he will be protected from the torment of the grave; he will be safe from the greater terror;
  • a crown of dignity will be placed on his head, one ruby of which is better than this world and everything in it;
  • he will be married to seventy-two wives from al-hoor al-‘ayn;
  • and he will intercede for seventy of his relatives.

Worship Me (Alone)

Allaah (SWT) commanded :

Bismillaahi Ar-Rahmaani Ar-Raheem

And I (Allaah) did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me (alone).

[ Surat Adz-Dzariyaat (The Winnowing Winds), 51:56 ]

*********

The meaning of this ayat (51:56) is that,

Allah the Exalted, the Blessed created the creatures so that they worship Him Alone without partners. Those who obey Him will be rewarded with the best rewards, while those who disobey Him will receive the worst punishment from Him. Allah stated that He does not need creatures, but rather, they are in need of Him in all conditions. He is alone their Creator and Provider.

And I (Allaah) did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me (alone).

meaning, “I, Allah, only created them so that I order them to worship Me, not that I need them.

Ali bin Abi Talhah (RA) reported that Ibn Abbas (RA) commented on the ayat (…except that they should worship Me).

meaning, “So that they worship Me, willingly or unwillingly.

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Hurayrah (RA) said that Allaah’s Messenger (SAW) said,

Allah the Exalted said,

O Son of Adam ! Busy yourself in worshipping Me, and I will fill your chest with riches and dissipate your meekness. Otherwise, I will fill your chest with distracting affairs and will not do away with your meekness.

At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah collected this Hadith and At-Tirmidhi said, “Hasan Gharib”.
